Kami Rita reached the summit along Everest's southeastern ridge on the 22nd (local time), Nepal tourism official Kim Lal Gautam said.

This record was set 10 days after his 29th ascent of Everest on the 12th, making him the person who has climbed to the summit of Everest the most times among all mountaineers.

Sherpa is the name and surname of a tribe in Nepal and is also widely known as a mountaineering guide.

Kami Rita, also known as the 'Everest Man', first reached the summit of Everest in May 1994 while working as a mountaineering guide with his father.

He has since summited Everest, guiding climbers almost every year, except for three years when tourism authorities restricted the climb.

He also climbed other high peaks over 8,000 meters above sea level, including K2, several times.

In an interview with AFP on the 12th, Kami Rita said, "I am happy to have set a record, but records are broken someday. I am even more happy that by climbing Mount Everest, I am helping to promote Nepal to the world."

In a past interview, he became a hot topic by saying that he did not make any plans to achieve the record and that he "just did the work."
