Koreans and Danes Can Now Extend Working Holiday Adventures Until Age 34

South Korea and Denmark have upped the age limit for their Working Holiday program, allowing young people to explore each other's countries for up to a year and earn travel funds for longer.

Previously capped at 30 years old, the program will now welcome participants between 18 and 34 years old starting June 1st, 2024. This change comes from a revision to the existing agreement between the two countries.

The Working Holiday program, established in 2010, lets young Koreans and Danes experience each other's cultures and lifestyles firsthand. Participants can work while they travel, covering their living expenses during their year-long stay.

By extending the age range, Korea and Denmark aim to boost youth exchange and solidify their friendly relations. This new policy joins Korea's existing working holiday agreements with 25 other countries and regions.

South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively expanding these programs, aiming to equip young people with valuable skills and experiences through international travel and work opportunities. The Ministry's plans include further efforts to create even more youth exchange programs, fostering the growth of "global talents" through overseas adventures.
