Korea-Thailand 2nd Cyber Security Dialogue held

On the 16th, the 2nd Korea-Thailand Cyber ​​Security Dialogue was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Seoul.

International Security Ambassador Lee Dong-ryeol and Thai Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sorat Suktawon attended as senior representatives, and cyber security officials from the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the National Police Agency, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Cyber ​​Security Agency (NCSA), and the National Security Committee (NSC) attended. Representatives from the relevant agencies of both countries attended.

The two sides discussed major cybersecurity issues, including cybersecurity policies and strategies, bilateral and multilateral cooperation in cybersecurity, strengthening cybersecurity capabilities, and ways to cooperate in cybercrime investigations.

In particular, the two countries discussed ways to cooperate in multilateral arenas such as the United Nations and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).

We explained that we would like to address cyber security issues as one of the key agenda items at the Security Council during our term as a member of the UN Security Council, and Thailand expressed support for Korea's efforts.

Both sides agreed on the need for closer cooperation and capacity building between government agencies in both countries to respond to growing cyber threats.

In addition, we decided to share cybersecurity-related policies and strategies and explore specific cooperative projects together.

This cyber security dialogue was held by the '2022-2027 Korea-Thailand Joint Action Plan' and is evaluated as an opportunity to deepen substantive cooperation in the cyber field between the two countries.

The two countries agreed to continue to develop it into a venue for comprehensive cooperation in which all relevant organizations in the cybersecurity field participate.
